Team Building Workshop in RGS

Trybe is back in Raffles Girls’ School (RGS) again!

This time, Trybe was invited to conduct a team building workshop for a group of dynamic Peer Support Leaders. I was extremely amazed by the excitement and energy level that the student leaders exhibited. They were so bubbly, positive and also very ‘creative’ in finding solutions to complete the challenges posed to them. Their enthusiasm really encouraged us to give our best and shared about our life experiences with them.

The workshop covered topics such as DISC behavioural styles as well as experiential activities that involved team challenges. The main highlight of the workshop was the Moat Game where the girls were given a challenge to complete an activity that would require teamwork among the entire body of students. Throughout this Moat Game, I was actually very touched and proud of this group of student leaders. Despite having to restart the activity countless times, spending more than an hour, they were still able to persist on, stay positive and also continued to encourage each other to finish the challenge. Synergy was definitely displayed by this group of student leaders.

I was blessed to be one of the facilitators and I am very excited and optimistic about the potential contributions these students can make towards this nation and world. They are the best - Leovine

THE PENCIL STORY for all teachers

In the beginning the Pencil Maker spoke to the pencil saying, "There are five things you need to know before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and you will become the best pencil you can be".

FIRST: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in someones hand.
(Teachers allow their students' talents to be made accessible)

SECOND: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but this is required if you are to become a better pencil.
(Teachers sharpen their students to develop their potential)

THIRD: The most important part of you will always be what is inside.
(Teachers point students to their beauty within)

FOURTH: You have the ability to correct any mistakes you might make.
(Teachers help students see their mistakes, so that they learn)

FIFTH: No matter what the condition, you must continue to write. You must always leave a clear and legible mark no matter how difficult that situation.
(Teacher encourage their students to live purposefully even when the going gets tough)

Wishing you a Happy Teachers' Day!

from Trybe
