Video Shoot!

On 25th April 2009, we had a DISC video shoot by the Mole Production who volunteered to create a video for Trybe. Big thanks to the MOLE! :)

We selected among our volunteers, Dave, Bing Rong, Stephanie, Sheilina, Vege and Albert to be our actors and actresses. These are volunteers who have had a longterm relationship with Trybe, and we have found that they display their predominant DISC behaviourial traits really well! We had a lot of fun and laughter together during the shoot. I would like to thank the six of them who gave of their time and effort for this video. Thank you and you guys did a GREAT job!

Here are some photos and what the actors said about the shoot. Enjoy! :)

Dave:
When I was on my way to Trybe centre, I was heavy in my thoughts about the filming as I had no experience in front of cameras. I was rather nervous.

The photo shoot was hilarious in a way, because we had to "act" like ourselves, but the true essence of us seemed missing. And the “mess ups” were very comical as well.
Generally, I realised that it is tough to act as ourselves, or maybe we were just camera-shy.

The whole new and fresh experience was really worth it and it was a great Saturday - unique and interesting. :)

Bing Rong:
I learnt a lot about video shooting like the behind-the-scene actions. It is definitely not easy to shoot a video! Although we had to take many shots for each profile, it was an enjoyable experience for me. It really takes a great amount of courage and confidence to act in front of other people and also to act according to the character's requirement. Throughout the whole session, it was also a great chance to bond with other volunteers and to know them even more, especially those that I do not get to meet up very often.

Stephanie:
I do not know if anyone knows but I am really camera shy, especially if there is a group of people around watching me. I will feel really awkward and uncomfortable. Though I agreed spontaneously to join in the filming, I was rather worried because I did not know what was expected of me. Luckily, I just had to act as myself. In fact, the telephone part was so totally me! :) It was weird though, having to brush my teeth in front of others for the very first time. The studio shot was definitely the most intimidating, but I enjoyed myself. However, now that I am done with the filming, the sudden thought of my face appearing in front of hundreds or even thousands of students scares me. *shudders*

Sheilina:
This is the first time that I act out as I have stage fright; I am quite afraid to act in front of people. But this shooting has really provided me a platform to express myself freely. I want to thank Trybe for this opportunity.

Vege:
Thank you for giving us opportunity to be involved in the shooting on Saturday. It was a fun and enjoyable experience through which I believe all of us would have a deeper understanding of DISC.

Though it was just a short clip that lasted a few minutes, we spent the whole afternoon in Trybe office and the studio to shoot it. I now understand the hard work of our TV artistes.

Albert:
It was a fun experience for me as it was the first time acting in front of the camera. And it is great to work with other volunteers and thank you Trybe for this experience.
