Ai Tong Service Learning Champions
A showcase of the Service Learning (S-L) journey of 40 Ai Tong School Primary 5 Leaders on 4 November to 2 December 2011 - from S-L training to project implementation in Bintan, Indonesia.
The student leaders went through an interview with the trainers and then 7 training sessions to help them understand S-L and apply it into conceptualising and planning for their S-L Project in Bintan. Project Management, and Leadership Skills were also taught to the student leaders in the programme where they had many opportunities to practise speaking and presenting in front of the class, as well as to lead and work in teams.
These Ai Tong champions displayed much confidence and teamwork during their implementation in Bintan, and more importantly, much sincerety of heart and initiative to host and befriend the Bintan children.
It is worth noting too that many of the previous year's participants for Ai Tong S-L Project 2010 volunteered their time to assist their juniors in planning and preparing for their project this year, with 5 of them proceeding to the Bintan implementation trip to co-facilitate the programme.
Well done, Ai Tong student leaders!
