Trybe Bursary

Last Thursday (28 June 07) was a special day for us. It was the first time that Trybe gave out Bursaries to students. We had the privilege to hand out two bursary packages to Nurul and Jessica at the Trybe Centre.

Nurul is a secondary 1 student at Tampines Secondary School. She has transited well from Primary to Secondary School. Jessica is a student at the ITE, studying Multimedia Technology, attaining a very impressive GPA of 4.0! The two girls were happy to receive the bursary from Trybe.

From some time back, the Bursary had been something that I wanted to do personally. I am a strong advocate of education and I really don’t like to hear about young people not being able to go to school because of any financial difficulty that they face. I believe that everyone has a right to education and they should be given a shot at some form of education in their life time.

Trybe has been fortunate to have the partnership of the Wapuka Foundation from the United States for this Bursary. We are working to hand out one more Bursary to another well deserving student soon.
