Never stop dreaming...

For those who know me, I'm sure u would have known me to be interested in all things circus-y. I do balloon sculpting, know basic juggling and even fire spin using chains. For the rest of u....yup, that is how crazy I am!!

Recently I had the awesome opportunity to attend an annual camp by Perth Fire Spinners (I chanced upon them while passing a park where they regularly meet and signed up for the camp from there). This camp was run by people who are either professionals or hobbyists in the art of juggling, fire spinning, fire eating, stilt walking, bull-whip cracking, unicycling, diabolos, contact juggling and many many more.

For a whole weekend, we had tons of workshops for beginners and advanced ppl alike on all these wonderful skills. Trust me, while the things we did looked very kiddish, it took a lot of practice to learn them.

What excited me was the diverse groups of people I met during the camp. From travellers to whole families (kids who are only 7-8 years old learning to unicycle!), some adults giving a go at the childhood fantasises of juggling. I went to the camp alone and not knowing many people but the warmth and friendliness of the crowd made it so easy to go back with many many friends (I even have two "sisters" now!)

They even had a performance nite where people were encouraged to fire spin with a DJ spinning your choice of music to the encouragment of the rest of the camp!! (I was estatic when I spun fire for a very appreciative crowd)

The workshops build so many things that we try to inculcate to youths! The two most important lessons I felt were "never stop dreaming" and "U wil get it if you put in the effort".
