Dare 2 Dream at Yuan Ching Secondary School

When I reached Yuan Ching Secondary School I noticed so many things had changed since the last time I was there. They have new canteen, bigger classrooms and the atmosphere was crisp and very conducive learning environment.

Being there was really heart warming, as our class 2E1 was very enthusiastic and really easy to interact with our group is very cooperative and enjoys every activities that we conduct.

During the workshop I was tasked to lead one of the fun games and did pretty well and have learnt how to manage a big class and do crowd control. I am sure that this will be very useful for me in the future.

Through this Dare 2 Dream programme, I believe the students had learned alot about themselves and sure had lots of fun as well as much as I did.

Thanks to Jovita, Minmin, Leovine, Zuoen and all the other Lead Facilitators of each station.

Hua Yi Sec School pursue your dreams!

The 2 days spent at Hua Yi Secondary marked the very first time I witnessed Trybe’s D2D programme come alive. I had been personally very encouraged to know through the Theory of Multiple Intelligences in school that I have my talents and my dreams are attainable, despite my average grades. Hence, it was a very privileged opportunity to be able to bring across the same message to these precious young people.

I was taken aback when Trybe gave me the opportunity to co-lead the session with 2E1 with Christina on the second day despite my inexperience. As I have never been a very confident public speaker, it resulted in an anxious night of preparation. Looking back, I am thankful that the staff believed in me! It wasn’t as intimidating as I had imagined it to be, and I enjoyed the session tremendously. It was a bonus that the students were active participants and keen learners. Their eyes sparkled with pride and delight as they discovered their talents which were probably seldom affirmed by others. This made all the preparation worthwhile!

The class gave us an unexpected, self-initiated cheer at the end of our classroom session. This gesture warmed my heart as I don’t think it was just an act of formality. Rather, many of them were appreciative of how they have come to realize and accept how they are smart in the various areas. This programme has brought about not just a sense of self-awareness but has empowered them to believe in themselves to pursue their own passions and dreams.

I believe many more youths out there need to hear this message, that as long as they dare to dream, they can do it!

Dare today at Jurongville

“I had a great time at Jurongville Secondary School today. Today’s programme which is Dare to Dream has been recently updated. There are more activities now to each type of Intelligence. Eventhough I have a short time with 2N1 students to me that was very precious. Even though I didn’t have much chance to speak in the class but I believe that every students in 2N1 can achieve their destiny and full potentials. Thank you 2N1 for having me in your class!

Another group of people that I would like to mention are the volunteers that turn up for today’s session. To Ben, Bing Rong, Ryan Ham, Henzy, Sam and Yussif, I would like to give you a big thank you for getting up early and come to today's session which everyone have to be there at 7am. What moved me most even in the midst of getting things ready is that these volunteers didn’t give up to come to the session in such early morning. I really want to salute and appreciate you for coming and definitely make a huge different in the students’ lives and mine. Thank you.”
