Focus Groups and Managing Stuff..
We had 2 focus groups today: one for Parents and Teachers and the other one on Youths! In the 2 sessions, Praise, Jia Huey and Jaime took time to gather views from volunteers on their worldviews and to spend time to find out more about their childhood and how different parenting styles have affected their outlook in life.
No, this wasn't a counseling session or a psychotherapeutic exercise... but this allowed our volunteers to understand themselves better and so to gather more insights to facilitate Trybe for Parents and Teachers more effectively.
Can't really comment much coz i wasn't there for the focus groups though i heard great stuff about it. Joel, Raffy and I were crunching bytes on our laptops to develop our Volunteer DB and Info Management systems for Trybe Thailand! We had fun as we typed away... waiting for our ice blended drinks.. for ONE hour! *no kidding*
The whole workshop for Parents and Teachers programme was my highlight! I was given time to recall, reflect and analyze on things and incidents that happened in my younger days which never occurred to me why things happened the way they did. My perspective was renewed. I felt very much enlightened and comforted and I felt I can contribute for the Trybe Parents session tomorrow. – Christina Victor
