Hua Yi Secondary Leadership Camp

Trybe is extremely happy to be back at Hua Yi Secondary this year. Even though not unfamiliar with the school, I was extremely excited to go back to Hua Yi because of Trybe’s longstanding good relationship with the students and teachers of the school.

This time round, we had a large proportion of new volunteers with us, but they proved their mettle by interacting and facilitating the groups of students with ease, dedication and passion. I was extremely touched by the activity “blind mice”, where the plight of the sight-impaired was highlighted. Students, facilitators and staff were all impacted by the lesson learnt – that we are really fortunate to have the gift of sight and how easy it is for us, with sight, to move around.

The students were exemplary – all exhibited utmost responsibility, diligence and maturity; to handle their projects and discussions, their tasks and their teams. I am extremely impressed and I encouraged them, to institute positive transformation for the betterment of society, not just in their own lives, but also in their entire generation of youth!
